Details of the transition arrangements are outlined below.

• Students will transition to the new version i.e., FNS30122 Certificate III in Financial Services in Semester 2'2023. 
• The FNS30122 consists of 12 units (1 core unit plus 11 electives). 
• All units completed in the FNS30120 are equivalent in the new FNS30122, apart from FNSRTS306 Process Customer Transactions, which does not form part of the new FNS30122 version. 

• Students will transition to the new version i.e., FNS40222 Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping in Semester 1'2024.

• 
The FNS40222 version consists of 13 units (10 core units plus 3 electives).
• 2 units listed below from FNS40217 will not be offered in the new Version 
o BSBSMB412 Introduce cloud computing into business operations 
o FNSACC313 Perform financial calculations (Credit transfer is available if completed the previous version of this unit in FNS40217)

  • There is a new core unit in the new version (FNS40222) i.e., BSBTEC302 Design and produce spreadsheets.
  • The two units listed below were electives in FNS40217, these will be Core units in FNS40222. 
    • FNSACC412 Prepare operational budgets.
    • FNSACC414 Prepare financial statements for non-reporting entities.
*Information about the extension of FNS40217 until the end of Semester 2 2023. 

ASQA has granted extension to continuing students to complete the requirements of FNS40217 until January 2024.

Continuing students who are currently enrolled in the unit/s of FNS40217 have the opportunity to complete the requirements of this version by the end of semester 2’2023.  
Note: The unit 'FNSACC313 Perform financial calculations' won't be delivered in the intake 2 of semester 2'2023. Hence if you wish to study this unit as an elective you will need to enrol in this unit in Intake 1 of semester 2'23. 

The students who will not complete the FNS40217 version by the end of semester 2'2023 will continue their study in the FNS40222 version from semester 1 of 2024.

Note: If you do not plan to complete all the requirements of the FNS40217 by the end of Semester 2'23, then please do not enrol in the unit BSBSMB412 Introduce cloud computing into business operations or FNSACC313 Perform financial calculations in semester 2'23. 

Students will transition to the new version i.e. FNS50222 Diploma of Accounting. 

Pre-requisite Requirements of FNS50222 Diploma of Accounting – 
Please note that the entry requirements in the new version of the FNS50222 Diploma of Accounting have changed. Prior to commencing the FNS50222 Diploma of Accounting, now you need to complete the following – 

Complete the following 4 units: 
(Either under the study path of Certificate IV in Accounting & Bookkeeping or FNSSS00014 Accounting Principles Skill Set version 2 or 3) – 

1) FNSACC418 - Work effectively in the accounting and bookkeeping industry
2) FNSACC321 - Process financial transactions and extract interim reports
3) FNSACC322 - Administer subsidiary accounts and ledgers
4) FNSACC421- Prepare financial reports (FNSACC421 is equivalent to BSBFIA401).

Diploma level units - 
• The new FNS50222 version of the Diploma in Accounting consists of 11 units (7 core units plus 4 electives). 
• All units from FNS50217 are equivalent to the common units offered in the new qualification. 
• There is a new listed elective offered in FNS50222 i.e. FNSACC601 Prepare & administer tax documentation for legal entities.
• The units FNSACC414 & FNSACC416 will not be offered as an elective in FNS50222.


Please note that you are not able to complete the FNS 17 version in semester 2 (except those studying the FNS40217 Certificate IV in Accounting & Bookkeeping), regardless of your progress in that training package.
