RPL Online Application Gateway
As a current or former student of our program area I am writing to advise that from 11th January 2016 students of Financial Services, Justice, Policing, Legal Services and Property Services can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) online.
RPL is the process used to recognise your existing skills, knowledge and experience acquired through work experience and/or previous studies with TAFESA or any other institutions.
Your existing skills, knowledge and experience can be matched against the unit/s of competency from current qualifications. If you are granted RPL for a unit of competency it will be resulted as a SP (RPL granted) and it will appear on your academic transcript.
To assist you in the RPL process, self-assessment online tools are available for each unit of competency.
Online RPL Application Process
Step1: You must email to FJP.RPL@tafesa.edu.au your full name and details of the unit (s) of competency you would like to apply for RPL.
Step 2: On receipt of your email we will activate you in the online RPL self-assessment tool and provide you with your online access details within two business days.
Step 3: Applicants will log into the TAFESA Learn program and formally apply for RPL and commence RPL self-assessment process. This may include uploading your current resume, evidence and/or submissions (e.g. letters from employer or previous certificates), matching your existing skills, knowledge and experience with the learning outcomes of the unit/s of competency, and completing multiple choice challenge questions and/or assignment.
Step 4: Once you have completed step 1-7 in your self-assessment online site, you should notify it to FJP.RPL@tafesa.edu.au
Step 6: On Receipt upon your email, the Lecturer will assess your self-assessment submissions to determine whether the RPL criteria has been satisfied. If further evidence is required, the lecturer will contact you by phone for an interview or to arrange an unsupervised or supervised RPL assessment.
Step 7: If your application is successful, your result will be entered in Student Information System (SIS) and you will be requested to pay RPL fees within seven days through MY TAFESA account.
Step 8: If unsuccessful the applicant will be offered a "Fast Track Option" to fill the skills gap for enrolment in the unit.
