Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) Approved Tax Agents Registration Courses
We offer the Primary qualification and Board approved courses in Taxation law, Commercial law and Basic Accounting Principles courses that meet the education requirements of the Tax Practitioners Board for those needing board approved qualifications for Tax Agents registration and renewal. The Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) has approved that TAFE SA as approved course provider for course in Australian Taxation Law , Australian Commercial Law and Basic Accounting Principles for Tax Agents registration and renewal. TAFE SA offers nationally accredited FNS50215 Diploma of Accounting that meet the primary qualification requirements (under 203) of the Tax Practitioners Board for those needing board approved qualifications for Tax agent registration and renewal. To become a registered individual tax agent, or to renew your registration as an individual tax agent, you must satisfy certain other qualifications and experience requirements, which are set out in the Tax Agent Services Regulations 2009 (TASR)(Click here to view the other TPB educational requirements). |

Additional Course Requirement
From 1 July 2013 Tax Agents are required to have completed a course in Australian taxation law that is approved by the Tax Practitioners Board and must have completed a course which includes a component in the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 (TASA), including the Code of Professional Conduct (Code). |

TPB Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Courses
Continuing Professional Education (CPE) is now a requirement for renewal of registration. This means that when renewing your registration you must demonstrate that you have completed CPE that meets Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) requirements. Complying with Tax Practitioners Board CPE requirements will also assist you to maintain knowledge and skills relevant to the Tax agent, BAS Agent, or Tax (financial) advice services you provide, which is one of your obligations under the Code of Professional Conduct.
