There are two categories of assessments and additional homework requirements.
A) Compulsory Online Quizzes and Activities
- These may include multiple choice questions, short answer questions, essays, portfolios and case studies.
- These assessments must be completed before attempting the final assessment(s).
- These assessments will not be graded but they are compulsory to satisfy the unit requirements.
- Once these assessments have been submitted automatic feedback may be provided.
B) Final Assessment – These will determine the final grade for the unit. There are three types of final assessments.
- Unsupervised Assignment(s)
- - Students able to complete the assignment at home and submit to their Facilitator for marking.
- Supervised Assessment(s) -
- Students may be required to sit an assessment under the supervision of a TAFE SA staff member or an approved invigilator.
- Students are able to complete their supervised assessment(s) at home using the TAFE SA online assessment supervision facility or at a TAFE SA approved location.

- Oral Assessment
- Students are required to complete the oral assessment online or in a classroom environment in order to assess the oral communication skills
