Margaret Barron is the Principal Lecturer in Justice and Policing Studies at TAFE SA.

A graduate in law from the University in Adelaide she also holds a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and a Graduate Diploma in Education.

She is currently undertaking a Master of Laws specialising in Law, Governance and Development at the Australian National University.

Margaret is admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of South Australia and practised law in Adelaide before becoming a full time academic.

She has lectured in Business Law at Flinders University, the University of South Australia ,Torrens University and TAFE SA in VET, undergraduate and post-graduate courses.

In 1990 the first edition of her text, ‘Fundamentals of Business Law’ was published by McGraw-Hill Book Company Limited. It is now in its 7th edition and used widely throughout Australia by Business Law Students.

Margaret is interested in working in developing countries and was part of two rule of law development projects in Lao PDR in 2003 and 2007. Since 2011 she has been the Lead Adviser, Trainer of Trainers for the Pacific Judicial Development Program and has travelled throughout the Pacific delivering Train the Trainer Workshops to judges and other court staff.
